Print-on-demand (POD) editions are different from e-books in that the book designer can specify exactly what the pages of your book will look like, including all the bells and whistles that you expect from a professionally published book. The book designer can choose the typeface, the style of the headers and footers, and tweak those little details like precise character spacing that make the difference between a book that looks really good (which is what you'll get with our e-book editions) and a book that goes beyond really good and looks more like a gold-plated limited edition ready for the library of a king.
The interiors of our print-on-demand editions have that sort of quality. For most authors the technical details of how this quality is achieved won't be of much interest, nor should they be. We'll take care of them for you. At Illuminated Pages, we worry about the details of professional quality book layout so you don't have to.
But if you happen to know something about book design and want to talk shop, Amy will be happy to tell you exactly what she's going to do to make your book look like a top-of-the-line, just-give-me-the-Pulitzer-now edition. And if you don't know anything about book design, feel free to think of what Amy does as magic. Because, when you come right down to it, that's what it really is.
